Sensual Nude Photography with Joakim Karlsson. With flash and available light to extraordinary photos.
He sets in the lightning both on flashes as well as on existing light. It's exciting how versatile Joakim can use a flash and a softbox. Even Martin is surprised at one point or another.

In this video I show how I work with light and shadow on location with just my camera and not additional equipment. I explain and show what give the special style and look in the photos from this shoot. The video also includes behind the scenes footage to show the whole location and exactly where the light come from. Together with my explanations you’ll get an understanding of how I do it.
In this tutorial I explain and show all the secrets behind this look and style. I show and explain how the light was made as well and tale you through the whole post-production process. Both light and edit is important for this look. I also do a different style of color grading that I don’t show in any other video here.
Capture One is used like raw converter and for some basic adjustments. Most of the color grading and all the skin retouch are done in Photoshop without using any filters, actions or plugins.
Camera: Canon 5DS R
Light: Available light
Software for retouch and color: Capture One & Photoshop
Length: 53 minutes (all in real time and recorded in one piece)
This is a video tutorial where I do retouch and color grading using Photoshop only. What you learn from this video can be useful no matter what raw converter you use. The raw converter is just used to correct white balance and exposure. The rest in Photoshop!

In this video I show the full edit of this photo. I describe the light and the shooting conditions and I show some backstage footage. Raw file and edited file included.
Length: 45 minutes
Software: Lightroom and Photoshop
In these videos I show the edit of a special photo using Capture One Pro and Photoshop. But it’s much more than that. Several videos include backstage footage to show the location and the light. All videos include description about light, equipment and camera setting. Some videos even come together with raw files so you can practice. They all have a lot of good tips, tricks and advice. And of course detailed explanations of each step of the edit.
Joakim Karlsson was born in a small Swedish town in the spring of 1979. Growing up, he was fond of music and played in various rock bands. In the 9th grade, he first discovered his passion for photography while taking a short photo course. He learned to shoot with film and focus manually, as the cameras had no automatic functions. Photography was never a realistic career choice until 2007. It was then that he became inspired by portrait and fashion photography. Never having had any professional photo training, Joakim was forced to learn everything the hard way on his own. Fortunately, he got to experience all the mistakes himself, which created and developed his own unique shooting style. For years, he used his talents to primarily shoot fashion.
